CAN YOU HEAR ME OK? - EXHIBITION
Curated and co-produced by three creators that met and became friends in Lisbon, Can You Hear Me OK? features newly commissioned and debut works by a variety of audiovisual, performative and biohacking artists, in addition to the participation of local Lisbon’s vibrant creative community at BOA Gallery.
Neurofeedback, virtual reality, light therapy and aromacology all feature in the experience, which invites attendees to open up their minds, put aside their preconceptions of ‘black mirrored technologies’, and consider more sensorial and immersive approaches.
Co-curators Ramy Elnagar, Maryam Aboukhater and Francisco Teixeira told BOA Gallery: “We’re trying to send a message of hope. We ask people to not pretend as if they didn’t experience a mad pandemic and just go back to their same old habits. But instead, to really take the time to look inwards and try to understand what they really lost during this unique historical time.”
Part of the proceedings were donated to APAV, Portuguese Association for Victim Support.
